A COUPLE OF DAYS IN QUARANTINE W/ MARCUS OAKLEY
Every time I go abroad, I make a zine filled with my observations. Since I have nowhere to go due to the current lockdown, a new plan was formed. To minimize the effects of isolation and to keep in contact with my fellow illustrators I asked Marcus Oakley to join me in capturing these surreal times in a series of drawings.
Confined at home Marcus focused on the household objects surrounding him, with which he now spends so much time. I on the other hand looks for small signs of life looking through my windows: a small breeze of wind blowing through the curtains, shadows forming patterns on the plants on my balcony, a pigeon enjoying the outside world free of humans.
Together our drawings tell a story of a remarkable time. Not only showing the weirdness and saddness of the whole situation, but also revealing a world where there is still enough to discover.
